After a grueling summer with record high temperatures, the nation's best drum corps travelled to the cooler climate of Indianapolis to compete in the DCI Championships. For many, this competitive season marked a return to normal operations following the COVID-19 pandemic.
In what many are calling the most exciting combined slate of shows in years, the Bluecoats beat some stiff Finals competition to win their first-ever Sadler Trophy for Best Percussion with a final score section of 19.750, edging out the second-place Cavaliers who received a score of 19.700. The Blue Devils once again ascended to the top of the DCI mountain, winning the overall World Class Championships with a total Finals score of 98.750, followed by the Bluecoats and Boston Crusaders in a two-way tie for second place overall with scores of 97.325. Congratulations to all who marched this summer and contributed to DCI's triumphant return!
